The Philippine National Police (PNP) of the City of San Fernando led yesterday’s launching of #DisiplinaMuna National Advocacy Campaign during the flag raising ceremony. This campaign is an initiative of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) to promote the culture of discipline among Filipinos.

The campaign hopes to encourage active citizen participation in good governance as one of the key components in community and national development. Further, DILG asks the support of the community in the implementation of their programs and projects which include road clearing, disaster preparedness and resilience, anti-smoking drive, ease of doing business, liquor ban, tourist spot clean-up, and the fight against illegal drugs.

Present during the ceremonial launching were City Government employees headed by City Mayor Alf Ortega, and City Police Station officers led by Deputy Chief of Police Pol. Major Gerardo V. Manzano.

To cap the event, City Mayor Alf Ortega, representatives from DILG and City PNP, and the City Department Heads signed the Disiplina Muna Commitment Board signifying the local government’s commitment in instilling discipline and enhancing citizen engagement in the City of San Fernando.
