CGSFLU DISTRIBUTES MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT TO 49 LOCAL TOBACCO FARMERS
The City Government of San Fernando, La Union (CGSFLU), through the City Agriculture Office, distributed farm inputs to tobacco farmers at the Barangay Biday Food Terminal on May 18, 2026.
Construction materials for the establishment of curing barns were distributed to 29 tobacco farmer-beneficiaries to support proper tobacco curing and improve post-harvest operations.
Meanwhile, another 20 farmer-beneficiaries received construction materials for the establishment of curing sheds to further enhance tobacco production facilities in their respective areas.
Top-producing tobacco farmers also received incentives consisting of 38 units of knapsack sprayers and one unit of water pump with hose in recognition of their contribution to the tobacco industry.
The activity was attended by City Mayor Hermenegildo A. Gualberto, together with City Councilors Hon. Leonardo R. Soriano, Jr., Hon. Edwin H. Yumul, Hon. Samuel H. Jucar, Hon. Aldrine G. Jucar, and Hon. Ramon F. Laudencia.
Through agricultural support initiatives, the City Government continues to empower local tobacco farmers and strengthen the industry here in our #PeoplesCity of #SanFernandoTayo.
