TAOID PROJECT IN CITY OF SAN FERNANDO PRODUCES YOUTH ADVOCATES FOR LOCAL HERITAGE, CULTURE AND ARTS
The City of San Fernando, La Union successfully conducted its first-ever TAOID Project with its 40 youth participants who were geared to advocate the local culture, arts, and heritage of the city at the Ynad’s Place Hotel and Resort on September 20-22, 2024.
During the 3-day in-house activity, the participants were exposed to different topics covering importance of cultural heritage and identity through community involvement, sustainable tourism, exploration of Ilocano culture, legacies, pride and history of the city, and individual responsibilities in safeguarding cultural values.
The participants were also equipped with skills in photography and social media planning necessary followed by a team building activity.
As part of the said project, they also visited the various landmarks such as Bacsil Ridge, Pindangan Ruins, City Hall as well as La Union Science Centrum, Botanical Garden, and IBIT’s Farm.
Also in attendance were City Councilor Hon. Mark Anthony A. Ducusin, who delivered his welcoming remarks, and Local Economic Business Development Office Department Head Ms. Rizalyn D. Medrano to show her support in the activity.
Furthermore, to inspire and enrich the minds of the participants, the following speakers shared their respective knowledge and expertise:

• Ms. Shairalene Guerrero, Provincial Information Office (PIO) Information Officer III, Founder of Wonder Works Creative Lab Studio
