MAYOR DONG TO REINFORCE DATA-DRIVEN STRATEGIES ON COVID-19

The COVID-19 Task Force convened in an emergency meeting this morning, June 11, 2021, after a recorded spike in COVID-19 cases yesterday.
During the meeting, the Information and Communications Technology Office and the City Health Office presented recent data on cases through the City’s COVID-19 Data Management System.
Data showed that the case surge is associated with the mass testing of regional offices, an increase in the number of hospital personnel and business industry workers testing positive, and an increase in the number of close contacts testing positive. Furthermore, 73% of the individuals who tested positive are found to belonging to the 21-30 years old age group or working class.
With this, the City COVID-19 Task Force headed by City Mayor Dong Gualberto is set to reinforce data-driven strategies in achieving data-based targets and goals in the next three months. It is the Task Force’s priority to standardize the 2-Week Growth Rate and Average Daily Attack Rate in the City—indicators that assess our risk for Covid-19 Infection and Growth.
The past few days have shown an alarming increase in these indicators, thus the need to strengthen measures and protocols against the virus.
The COVID-19 Task Force, in coordination with the Department of Interior and Local Government, is set to implement stricter monitoring and implementation of health standards and protocols with the upcoming release of Safety Seal Certification Assessment to all public and private spaces.
The Safety Seal Certification is a program that certifies that a public or private office is compliant with the government’s minimum public health standards and uses or integrates its contract tracing with staysafe.ph.
The City Government of San Fernando continues to call on the individuals belonging to the A1-A4 sector to register and take part in the vaccination rollout program of the City. You may register here: http://vaccine.sanfernandocity.gov.ph/
