CITY CONDUCTS IEC ACTIVITY FOR PROPOSED LA UNION BOTANICAL GARDEN DEVELOPMENT
The City Environment and Natural Resources Office spearheaded an Information, Education, and Communication activity for the La Union Botanical Garden (LUBG) Development at the Mayor’s Conference Room on April 22, 2026, as part of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).
The activity was facilitated by representatives of Quality Nexus Solution Inc., namely Mr. Ernest John Reyes, Mr. Francisco Miguel Reyes, and Mr. Almyt Poblete, who presented key aspects of the project and the EIA process.
City Mayor Hermenegildo A. Gualberto, together with City Councilor and Committee Chair on Environment Hon. Leonardo R. Soriano, Jr., attended the session, along with representatives from concerned barangays — Barangays Apaleng, Cabarsican, and Cadaclan — as well as stakeholders from people’s organizations, the Local Economic and Business Development Office – Tourism and Cultural Affairs Division, and the City Planning and Development Office.
The EIA being conducted is part of the requirements for the application of a Presidential Proclamation that will enable the City Government to formally manage, develop, and protect the LUBG.
Kakabsat, the City Government continues to welcome efforts and initiatives to ensure the sustainable use and conservation of our LUBG for the future generations of our #PeoplesCity of #SanFernandoTayo.
