Acting City Mayor Alf Ortega and Acting City Vice Mayor Chary Nisce led the turn-over and blessing ceremony of newly purchased vehicles for the City after the Monday flag-raising ceremony yesterday, March 8.
Acting City Mayor Alf pushed for the purchase of these new vehicles last October in order for our offices and agencies to be able to provide better service to the residents of San Fernando.
A total of 10 new vehicles were turned over yesterday: 2 vans and 1 motorcycle to the General Services Office; 2 elf trucks to the Environmental and Natural Resources Office; 2 motorcycles to Lakas ng Pagbabago Volunteers; 2 tricycles to Barangays II and Canaoay; and 1 car to the City PNP.
Three dumptrucks were also provided to barangays Sagayad, Cabaroan, and San Francisco, through a loan from the City Gov’t, to aid their garbage collection.
Meanwhile, 30 bicycles were given to all the women Barangay Captains, Marine Protected Area enforcers, and City employees in celebration of Women’s Month and in recognition of their tireless service to San Fernando.
The blessing was administered by Rev. Fr. Raul Panay, Parochial Vicar of St. William the Hermit Cathedral.
