CITY GOVERNMENT SPEARHEADS EDUCATOR’S SUMMIT, EMPHASIZES PARENTAL ROLE OF TEACHERS

Teachers and education practitioners joined in the Educators’ Summit of the Office of the City Mayor – Special Projects Office to enhance their challenging role as second parents of learners at Ynad’s Place Hotel and Resort on December 7, 2024.
City Mayor Hermenegildo A. Gualberto delivered his welcome remarks while Dr. Sheila Marie A. Primicias, OIC – Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) of the Department of Education – Schools Division Office (DepEd – SDO) San Fernando City, La Union, shared her inspirational message at the event.
A total of 130 participants engaged in the discussion of Ms. Leah S. Corpuz, CEO & Lead Trainer of LASC Learning Solutions, tackling “Parents as Partners to Teachers in the Holistic Growth of Learners”. Meanwhile, Dr. Nhorly Domenden, Founder of Wundt Psychological Institute discussed strategies in teaching through the topic, “Turning the Tides to Pride: Parenting and Teaching Learners with Challenging Behavior”.
Moreover, City Health Office Department Head Dr. Michael C. Bangloy led the discussion on the Blue Zones Program, emphasized that the program aims to promote the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of students in the city by building healthier learning communities.
Additionally, their collaboration was strengthened through a capacity enhancement session facilitated by Dr. Mark Anthony D. Latoja from the City Public Information Office.
The Educator’s Summit aims to provide educators with the necessary tools to design tailored programs in their respective schools and strengthen the relationships between parents, teachers, and students.
