The City Government of San Fernando City, La Union thru the CSWDO provided financial assistance for the education of 40 highschool and 20 college students of the city. These recipients come from indigent families whose main livelihood are fishing or farming. Some of these families have solo parents and are also members of the 4Ps. 

Mayor Dong graced the simple awarding program last November 25 and congratulated the students for their excellent grades. He assured them of the City Government’s continuous support to their education.

He also delivered an uplifting message to the students: “This government wants to create an environment where you could reach your full potential and reach your dreams. Just tell me what more we can do to help you. We want to hear your voice because I truly believe that even at your age, adda iti maited yun, adda iti maitulong yu for nation building, for building the San Fernando that you want.”

Finally, Manong Dong reminded the scholars to hope not just for their families but for the city as well: “Please include the City of San Fernando in your dreams because San Fernando is yours: you are the future leaders of San Fernando” he said.  

Mayor Dong also revealed his plans of increasing the number of City scholars as part of his Learning Continuity Plan, as well as the amount of financial assistance that they can receive. 

Education is part of Mayor Dong’s three-point agenda for the People’s City of San Fernando. He wants to ensure that the City Government is doing everything in its power to ensure that #WalangMaiiwan na batang San Fernando dito sa ating siyudad.
