Private establishments urged to abide by stringent health protocol standards as LEBDO starts safety Seal Certification Inspection

The Safety Seal Inspection and Certification Team of San Fernando started the inspection of business establishments’ compliance with the guidelines for the issuance of the Safety Seal yesterday, July 2, 2021.
The team, spearheaded by the Local Economic and Business Development Office (LEBDO), inspected the McDonald’s chain of stores here in the city, being the first establishment to apply for the said certification.
As of date, the food establishment adhered to almost all of the Safety Seal Certification requirements. They are now to comply with the rest of the requirements in order to be given the Safety Seal.
The Safety Seal Inspection and Certification is based on the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Memorandum Circular No. 2021-053 and DOLE-DOH-DILG-DOT-DTI Joint Memorandum Circular No. 21-01.
It aims to increase compliance by private and public entities with the minimum public health standards to prevent the spread of COVID19 and to increase consumer confidence with the reopening of the economy.
It will be valid for six months. Once the certification has lapsed, another round of inspection will be conducted to renew it.
Along with LEBDO, the Safety Seal Inspection and Certification Team is composed of the City Health Office (CHO), City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO), Office for Public Safety (OPS), Philippine National Police (PNP), and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
