PUROK 4 AND PARTS OF PUROK 3 IN ILOCANOS SUR, UNDER ENHANCED COMMUNITY QUARANTINE EFFECTIVE MIDNIGHT OF JANUARY 26, 2021.

The City Covid-19 Inter-Agency Task Force convened in an emergency meeting this afternoon, January 25, 2021, to immediately address the current Covid-19 situation of Purok 4 and parts of Purok 3 in Ilocanos Sur.

The City Health Office has recently recorded seven (7) Covid-19 cases in the said barangay. This prompted the City IATF to discuss the reclassification of the community quarantine status of the zones mentioned to contain the virus and impose necessary and stricter health protocols.

With the recommendation of the Technical Working Group, the City IATF has voted for Purok 4 and parts of Purok 3, Ilocanos Sur be under Enhanced Community Quarantine while the remaining parts of Purok 3 be used as a containment zone and be placed under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine, starting midnight of January 26, 2021 and will go on for 14 days. The granular lockdown may be lifted earlier based on developments and recommendations made by the Incident Management Team and the City IATF Technical Working Group.

The Incident Management Team and barangay officials have already conducted site inspection yesterday. According to the City Health Office, the affected individuals in Purok 4 will undergo mass testing while targeted testing will be made in Purok 3. Relief packs are now being prepared by the City Social Welfare and Development Office for the 308 individuals and 95 families affected and will be ready for release early tomorrow. The City will also ask the assistance of the Department of Social Welfare and Development to provide possible financial assistance for those residents whose livelihoods are affected in the area.

The City IATF Resolution will be turned over to the Regional IATF and is awaiting concurrence with the National IATF.

City IATF is serious in providing immediate and intensified Covid-19 intervention and response. Hence, the granular lockdown is a containment measure of the City Government of San Fernando to prevent the spread of the virus, given that the cases recorded were clustered in Purok 4, a congested area in the barangay.

The City Government of San Fernando calls for everyone’s continued cooperation and understanding as we carry out interventions to contain the virus and protect our constituents. As we ensure our people’s safety and security, may you work with us by strictly following health protocols, and rules and guidelines. Through and through, let us  unite and remain as one #SanFernandoTayo.
