Residents can look forward to safer neighborhoods, stronger community partnerships, and continued protection against illegal drugs as the City Government of San Fernando, La Union, through the Special Projects Office of the Office of the City Mayor, recognized Barangays 1, Ilocanos Norte, and Sevilla during the awarding of Drug-Cleared Barangay Certificates conducted at the Office of the City Mayor on July 29, 2026.

The certificates were personally presented by City Mayor Hermenegildo A. Gualberto together with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Provincial Director IA V Mr. Richard U. Tinong and Agent Ms. Mary Jean Botes to Punong Barangay Hon. Jonathan Galvez Rolluda of Barangay Ilocanos Norte, Punong Barangay Hon. Rodolfo Jr. Milanes of Barangay Sevilla, and Punong Barangay Hon. Dionilo Ancheta of Barangay 1.

The recognition follows the successful Regional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug Clearing (ROCBDC) Deliberation hosted by the City Government on June 24, 2026, where the three barangays were officially declared Drug-Cleared after meeting the standards and requirements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Regional Oversight Committee.

This milestone reflects the unwavering commitment of the City Government, the barangays, law enforcement agencies, and community stakeholders in advancing the Lakas ng Pagbabago Program and sustaining safe, peaceful, and drug-free communities.
