SAN FERNANDO CELEBRATES ARBOR DAY

To celebrate Arbor Day 2021, the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) planted 1,200 fruit tree seedlings in the Botanical Garden of the City of San Fernando on June 25.
The CENRO staff was joined by the Philippine Air Force, the Philippine Coastguard, and the Philippine Navy in planting tamarind, kasoy, and atis seedlings in a barren mountain slope to secure the area against soil erosion.
Arbor Day, much like Earth Day, is a holiday that celebrates nature. Its purpose is to encourage people to plant trees. So, many communities traditionally take the opportunity to organize tree planting and litter-collecting events to celebrate the said holiday.
With this initiative, the City Government hopes that our city would be able to preserve our nature and protect our resources for our future as one #SanFernandoTayo.
