After winning the Seal of Good Education Governance on April 3, 2021, the City Government officially received the trophy through a virtual awarding done via Zoom on July 13, 2021.

The United States Agency for International Development and Synergeia Foundation commends the resiliency of the City’s education sector despite the COVID-19 pandemic. The City Government, in partnership with the Local School Board, barangay captains and officials headed by Liga President Hon. Geraldine Ortega, SK officials and kagawads headed by Hon, Mark Anthony Ducusin, school heads, teachers, PTAs, and school governing councils, were able to successfully and effectively respond to the demands in the education sector due to the limitations brought by the pandemic.

In his speech, Mayor Dong extended the City Government’s gratitude to its partners, “Thank you for ensuring that our children are provided with the education that they deserve, even with the pandemic, even with the added challenges that made learning difficult. Your resourcefulness and resilience have broken limits that we thought we can’t overcome.”

The Seal of Good Education Governance is a symbol of success for the City’s education sector. More than this, it is also a challenge for the City Government of San Fernando to work harder so that our students are provided with opportunities for their growth and development while also ensuring their safety and overall well-being with the pandemic still happening.

This task will require greater work and effort from us but if we work together, we can continue achieving remarkable feats for the children of #SanFernandoTayo.
