Project #HelpCovid19Warriors started as a simple fund-raising drive on March 21, 2020 to raise P250,000 and purchase 200 boxes of face masks that were available from a supplier referred by a friend. The initial beneficiary was the Philippine General Hospital, as they were already calling out for donations of PPEs at the time.

fund-raising drive. They wanted to help our modern heroes in their war against COVID-19. “We knew how ill-prepared they were to fight the war against the pandemic. They needed our help, and it was our responsibility to do whatever we can to equip them with protective equipment as they risk their lives to save ours.”
They are also working closely with partners and suppliers. Two of their notable partners are Frederick Blancas, a retiree of the Ayala Group, who took care of locating volunteer sewing teams to manufacture the PPEs and Buboy Velasco, who is their main contact for their sewing teams from 20 for 20, Better Basics Philippines and Simone’s Closet.
Their group has already distributed surgical masks, KN95 masks, disinfectants, nitrile gloves, goggles, and fabric (silver-backed taffeta and poly microfiber) that have been sewn by volunteer sewing teams and designers into PPE coveralls and gown sets. “We do our best to serve their needs, hopefully in quantities that will make a difference.” They have been providing PPEs not just in the People’s City but in different hospitals across Luzon.
Like Project #HelpCovid19Warriors, people continue to find innovative solutions to address and support the needs of our heroes who are in the forefront of curbing the spread of the virus.
