In response to recent events pertaining to COVID-19, the City Government of San Fernando, La Union is pushing for the strict implementation of the Pre-emptive Heightened Enhanced Community Quarantine (PHECQ) particularly at the checkpoints and at the barangay level to continue to protect the people from COVID-19.

The City Government of San Fernando, La Union, through the assistance of the Philippine National Police, will increase the number of enforcers to ensure strict implementation of the stay at home policy, especially from the barangays with positive cases.

Moreover, the City Government of San Fernando, La Union, discussed the key points and considerations of possible lockdown in the locality vis-à-vis the existing national guidelines, the continuing relief operations and the DSWD social amelioration programs for the marginalized sectors.

The City Government of San Fernando, La Union, continues to listen to the concerns of the citizens and does its best to consider and address these in such a way that shall fit in the plans and strategies already implemented by the City Government.

The assembly was spearheaded by City Mayor Alf Ortega and Vice-Mayor Chary Nisce, together with the Liga ng mga Barangay Board Members, selected City Department Heads, members of the Incident Management Team, Philippine National Police and Department of Interior and Local Government.
