The battle against COVID-19 is continuously fought by the people’s city. To protect the health of our front liners such as the traffic enforcers, a disinfection operation is performed for their patrol cycles to keep them safe from the virus.

Police officers and OPS employees are making sure that everyone is following the social distancing imposed by the Government at the city market. Market goers’ and vendors’ body temperatures are taken before they are allowed to enter. Grocery shoppers, remittance center and drugstore clients are observing social distancing as well. The strict implementation of no mask, no entry is also implemented in business establishments. Free shuttle for the public who are scheduled to go out to secure their needs is still providing services.

At the CBD, courteous police officers together with the city TMU are verifying ECQ passes issued by the barangay to every motorist, making sure that they are following their assigned schedules. Checkpoints at the city boundaries are established and are manned by provincial police officers together with BFP and DOH personnel. They are tasked to take the body temperature and to check the special passes of travelers entering our city. However, they allow the entrance of those delivering basic commodities.

In the middle of this, there are good samaritans who generously provide foods and snacks to the hardworking heroes of this worldwide battle. And amidst this crisis, the people are generally cooperative in following the protocols imposed by the Government to combat this dreaded disease.

The City Government of San Fernando is doing all its best to contain this covid-19 and to show that “San Fernando, Ay-Ayaten Ka”.
