San Fernando supports ‘raep’ in Brgy. Bungro

Last Aug. 4, Mayor Dong Gualberto and Vice Mayor Alf Ortega led the participation of the City of San Fernando officials in the rice paddies transplantation, also known in Iloko as “raep.”
Held in Brgy. Bungro, City Councilors Arnel Almazan and Antonio Jucar also joined the raep, a communal labor activity. It is a common and elaborate method of crop establishment for rice here in our City wherein rice seedlings are grown before they are transplanted by our farmers into puddled and leveled fields.
Despite the pandemic, we will continue to support our farmers by investing in their welfare and promoting agricultural development here in #SanFernandoTayo!
