City Mayor Alfredo Pablo R. Ortega delivered his first State of the City Address yesterday, June 16, 2020, at the People’s Hall. The event had a 100% attendance of the Sangguniang Panlungsod headed by City Vice-Mayor Maria Rosario Eufrosina P. Nisce, both physically and virtually present.

The City Department Heads, Liga ng mga Barangay Board Members, and Sangguniang Kabataan Federation Officials situated at the Mayor’s Conference Room and Barangay Hall, respectively, also witnessed the event via live stream.

Mayor Alf presented the 2019 Accomplishment Report focusing on the four sectoral drivers in the delivery of public service in the city. These are Social Development, Economic Development, Environmental Management, and Administrative Governance.

The City Mayor also enumerated all efforts that the City has done to control and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. Mayor Alf also addressed the issues that were brought up by our netizens. These are related to high electric bills during the ECQ and PHECQ, the operation of blue tricycles, and limited mass transportation plying in the city.

Finally, Mayor Alf also presented the priority programs and projects for the rest of the year. These are the Expanded COVID-19 testing, procurement of mobile clinic, ICT based solutions for governance administration, the establishment of a central terminal, possible implementation of a permanent coding scheme for private vehicles, enhancement of the Emergency Command and Control Center, continuing operation of the barangay satellite markets, establishment of bike lanes, sustainable food security, implementation of the Operation MIA (Magsidalus Iti Arubayan na), relevant and inclusive education, and employment opportunities.
