LOOK: The City Government of San Fernando, La Union joins the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Provincial Office in conducting the ceremonial destruction in observance of the Consumer Welfare Month and National Standards Week at the City Engineered Sanitary Landfill last October 13, 2020. City Mayor Alfred Ortega and DTI Region 1 Director Grace Falgui-Baluyan together with Assistant Regional Director Daria R. Mingaracal and DTI La Union PD Merlie D. Membrere led the ceremonial destruction of the confiscated products such as angle bars, galvanized iron pipes, Christmas lights, electric tapes, lighters, wires. The confiscated products reportedly lacked the required Bureau of Philippine Standards (BPS) markings and had invalid ICC markings which is a violation of the requirements of Department Administrative Order 02 series of 2007. The City Government puts high regard on the safety of consumers by ensuring that they have access to high quality materials.
