During the flag ceremony on the first Monday of July, City Mayor Alfredo Pablo “Alf” R. Ortega compared the City Government to an engine. An engine has different parts, each performing different functions. And just as the engine, the City Government is composed of different offices and employees, each having an important role. More importantly, like the parts of an engine, everyone working in the City Government must unite and work together.
“I am here to unite, not to divide, that is why I need all of you. Saan a mabalin nga saba-sabali iti agenda tayo, ito po ang sinasabi ko sa inyo. Hindi ito para sa akin, kundi para sa ating siyudad. I hope and pray that we would continue to unite for our beloved City. Marami pa po tayong kailangang gawin, marami pa po tayong kailangang lagpasan,” Mayor Alf said.
He added that he respects each one’s own opinion and more than politics, he appreciates performance and needed everyone to be on the same page. Mayor Alf also reiterated that in every relationship there should be trust, respect, and of course, love. “We have to love what we do, and we have to love what we do for our City of San Fernando, because we love to serve, and we serve with love”.
Also present in the Flag Raising Ceremony were City Vice Mayor Maria Rosario Eufrosina “Chary” Nisce, City Councilor John Orros, and the Uniformed Personnel.
