City Government of San Fernando, La Union, through the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), awarded 10 establishments as Green Ribbon Awardees for practicing eco-friendly and environmental initiatives during the closing celebration of the Zero Waste Month, given last January 31, 2024 at Liga ng mga Barangay Hall.

Together with City Councilor Hon. Edwin H. Yumul and CENR Officer Mr. Valmar Valdez and staff, they recognized the following establishments:

Best Environmental Practice (Renewable Energy and Conservation Practices): Manna Mall Skymall; Best Environmental Practice (Plastic Regulation Implementation): CSI Mall La Union; Best Environmental Practice (Sustainable Greening Program): Thunderbird Resorts and Casino; Best Environmental Practice (Solid Waste Management): Halo-Halo de Iloko; Best Environmental Practice (Water Conservation and Efficiency): Shell Pilipinas Poro Terminal;

Best Environmental Practice: Robinsons Place La Union; Max’s Restaurant; Aureo La Union; Shell Pilipinas Poro Terminal; and Petron Poro Terminal.

This signifies the dedication and advocacy of the different industries and the city into sustainable and environmentally friendly communities.
