CITY GOVERNMENT ACCOMMODATES DOT DIRECTORS, INTERNATIONAL AMBASSADORS IN CONDUCTING THEIR CULTURE, HERITAGE, AND ARTS CARAVAN

The City Government, in partnership with the Association of Tourism Industries and Networks in La Union and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in La Union, accommodated the Department of Tourism (DOT) Regional Directors, DOT international ambassadors, and other invited guests during the conduct of the Philippine Experience Program of DOT for Ilocos and Pangasinan Region held in Halo Halo De Iloko La Mansion, Biday, City of San Fernando, La Union.

 

Around 80 participants were accommodated and had a first-hand experience of the tourism industry in the city and in La Union such as the heirloom dishes prepared by internationally acclaimed chef, Chef Xavier Mercado, a local of the City of San Fernando, and the following local products that were exhibited in the Trade Fair organized by the Department of Trade and Industry:

– Gantsilyo by Bauang Crochet Association Inc., Bauang, La Union

Buybuy by Rios Handicrafts, Burgos, La Union

Tsokolate de Batirol by Familiar Table Artisan Chocolate & Cafe, San Fernando City, La Union

– Monster Pot, Bacnotan, La Union

– Art Exhibit by Zarozar Art Gallery featuring the works of Rodel Rillera

 

In addition, the South Central Integrated School Drum and Lyre Corps were also present to welcome and entertain the participants with their energetic rendition of different songs and melodies.
