CITY OF SAN FERNANDO UNDERGO 2024 SEAL OF GOOD LOCAL GOVERNANCE NATIONAL VALIDATION

The national validation team of 2024 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region II Cagayan Valley conducted the evaluation process covering the 10 aspects of local governance in the City of San Fernando, La Union on September 11, 2024.

 

As part of the assessment process, Ms. Kelinda A. Vidad, Local Government Operations Officer (LGOO) VI/Program Manager and Mr. Meynard Abram M. Ventura, LGOO V of DILG Region II led the documentary review and interview with the focal persons.

 

Afterwards, an onsite validation was conducted at the various facilities of the city such as the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) Desk at Barangay Pagudpud, Tourism and Assistance Desk, Permanent Business One Stop Shop, and Full Disclosure Board at the City Hall.

 

In attendance were City Vice Mayor Hon. Alfredo Pablo “Alf” R. Ortega, City Councilors Hon. Mark Anthony A. Ducusin, Hon. Pablo C. Ortega, Hon. Kyle Marie Eufrosito Y. Nisce, Dr. Quintin L. Balcita, Jr., Hon. Edwin H. Yumul, Hon. Kirk Andrew M. Agulan, City Administrator Col. Ramon F. Laudencia, City Local Government Operations Officer Ms. Lily Ann O. Colisao, Department Heads, representatives from the Department of Education, Philippine National Police, Local People’s Council, Office of Senior Citizens Affairs, Ecowaste Association and Barangay Captains of Bato, Poro and Madayegdeg.

 

Prior to this national validation, the City Government was evaluated by the Regional Assessment Team from DILG Ilocos Norte on June 4, 2024.
