Manong Dong: We must revisit and recalibrate strategies and vision of the City to align actions with the needs of the New Normal
This year, the City Government of San Fernando has set its first priority to revisit the City’s priorities, strategies, and goals. This is through City Mayor Hermenegildo “Dong” Gualberto’s call to recalibrate the City’s strategies and action plans, focusing on the fulfilment of our post-pandemic goals.
To ensure that our strategies are fitting of our current need as we transition to the new normal, the City Government through the City Planning and Development Office shall undergo a 3-day workshop, Redefining the Vision workshop, Sector Goals and Strategy Formulation workshop, and Program, Project and Activity Identification workshop to update the City’s Comprehensive Development Plan, which will be conducted on January 13, 20, and 27, 2021 respectively.
The workshop aims to ensure that the vision of the City is attuned with the new normal and that this year’s initiatives are geared towards the overall recovery of each sector in the City especially those belonging in marginalized communities. The redefined City Comprehensive Development Plan shall tap innovative and sustainable solutions to our COVID-19 response and recovery, sectoral problems and other priorities.
Participants of the said workshop would be the Office of the City Mayor, Office of the City Vice Mayor, Sangguniang Panlungsod Chairman for Urban Planning, Office of the City Administrator, City Department Heads, Liga ng mga Barangay, Non-government organizations, DILG, NEDA, and Provincial Planning and Development Office.
This first step of the City in addressing our post-pandemic needs is testament of the City’s more intensified and more agile Covid-19 intervention and response.
