As the People’s City fights to stem the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, the City Government continues to distribute relief goods in different barangays.
As of yesterday, March 21, 2020, a total of 5,564 relief packs for households in 53 barangays have been distributed or are currently being distributed. The six remaining barangays will receive relief packs today, March 22, 2020.
The City prioritizes to distribute the first batch of these relief goods to the most vulnerable sectors, which include Senior Citizens, PWDs, 4Ps, and Solo Parents. The priority recipients for the second batch of distribution will be Tricycle Drivers; Farmers and Fisherfolk; and Philhealth beneficiaries of the City Government not mentioned earlier. The relief pack contains 10 kilos of rice, 21 can goods, and a germicidal soap.
Meanwhile, Mayor Alf also visited the repacking center in Brgy.1 to inspire the volunteers who tirelessly work for the people, check the flow of operation, and ensure that there are enough supplies to be given to the susceptible members of the community.
Decontamination of government service vehicles, shuttle services, and private vehicles through misting is also conducted in front of the city hall.
The City Government also provides a shuttle service for our health workers and frontliners, while several barangays offer free rides for their constituents. Additionally, volunteers offering free transport are also of big help to people.
The City administration would like to thank all the volunteers, which includes the PNP, Coastguard, City employees, Civic Volunteers, and Youth for the untiring performance of their services and help they are doing for the people of San Fernando. A big thank you also to the donors who generously donated rice and goods that continuously flood the repacking center.
