The NASUDI Center for Women and Children situated in Barangay Sibuan-Otong continues to provide shelter and protection to exploited and traumatized mother and children in San Fernando.

To date, 15 kids and a mother are currently housed in the shelter and are cared for by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).

According to Social Welfare Officer II Aegen Ral Q. Aquino, most of the kids under NASUDI’s care are victims of abuse by their biological parents and partner. The cases were presented during a multi-disciplinary meeting last February 10, 2021.

Some of the cases have siblings housed under other shelters for women and children such as DSWD Home for Girls in Agoo and Haven for Children in Dagupan. The CSWDO are in continuous coordination with both institutions to ensure healing and recovery for all patients.

Executive Assistant to the City Mayor Atty. Maria Nadia Nalinac Gonzales-Pilar was also present during the meeting. She also inspected the newly-renovated Center during the visit.
